![]() About Engine Co. No. 28![]() ![]() ![]() Celebrating its 20th Anniversary, Engine Co. No. 28 has been putting out appetite fires with classic American dishes inspired by the regional cooking of firehouses across the country. Opened in January of 1989, Engine Co. No. 28 is an American restaurant reminiscent of the classic grills of San Francisco and New York - mahogany booths, granite bar, pressed tin ceilings and brick floors - set in a beautifully restored 1912 downtown Los Angeles firehouse. The restaurant's atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed with a staff that is both friendly and attentive. Described by the Los Angeles Times as "American food
at it's best," our menu offers a wide variety of classic American
dishes including our famous Meatloaf served with mashed potatoes and
spinach, Louisiana Crab Cakes, Cobb Salad, Short Ribs and Chili. Desserts
are made fresh daily in our own kitchen and include a Double Chocolate
Layer Cake, Lemon Meringue Pie, Pecan Pie, Crème Brulee and
a 911 Fudge Brownie Sundae. For our 20th Anniversary, we offer a three
course weekly special menu for $20 that includes a cup of soup, a
"classic favorite" entrée and dessert. Price RangesAppetizers vary from $6 to $12; salads and sandwiches range from $9 to $15; entrees are priced between $16 and $25. LocationAddress: ReservationsReservations are recommended. Call (213) 624-6996 after 9:00 am weekdays and after 2:00 pm weekends.
